What is ACT-SO?

Afro-Academic, Cultural Technological, and Scientific Olympics 

Afro-Academic, Cultural Technological, and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) is a youth program under the administrative guidance of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).  ACT-SO is a year-long enrichment program designed to encourage high academic and cultural achievement among high school students.

ACT-SO was founded in 1977 to recognize and reward African-American high school students. Today, ACT-SO welcomes and celebrates students from all racial backgrounds and ethnicities.
